We are accessible by a 20 minute vehicle ferry from downtown Nanaimo, British Columbia. Our home-based treatment clinic is 9km from the Gabriola ferry terminal and our exact address and directions will be emailed or texted to you upon booking confirmation. Please check with BC Ferries for the most up to date ferry schedule, typically there are hourly sailings to Gabriola Island.

Ayurvedic body treatments are not recommended if you are menstruating as the body is going through a natural detoxification process that needs no additional inputs! Please book your treatment on an alternate day in your cycle.

This will depend on which treatment you choose however ideally you should shower at home within 40 minutes of your treatment to remove excess oils or herbal powders from the hair, scalp and surface of the skin for maximum therapeutic benefit.

All of our oils are certified organic, traditional Ayurvedic herbal infused formulations that are either sesame or coconut oil based. We choose the appropriate oil for each treatment based on the individual’s unique needs.

Unfortunately not yet. Ayurvedic practitioners, counselors and body technicians currently working in Canada are part of an important movement to bring Ayurveda into the forefront of complementary health care, as it is in many other countries around the world. As such Ayurvedic treatments are currently not covered by health plans.

YES! We work closely with Ayurvedic Practitioners (AP) and Ayurvedic Health Counselors (AHC) who may refer you to us for specific treatment protocols to address specific health conditions. Please contact us to discuss your needs or have your Practitioner contact us directly if they have any questions about the body treatments that we can support you with. We carry several Ayurvedic oil formulations to support various health conditions.

Please contact us if you need a recommendation for an Ayurvedic Practitioner in the region providing in-person or virtual consultations to design a panchakarma (detoxification) protocol for your specific health needs. We would be happy to work with your Ayurvedic Practitioner and administer their recommended panchakarma treatments for you in our treatment space.

Sonja is a certified Ayurvedic Panchakarma Technician (PKT) from the Kerala, India tradition and received her certification from the Kerala Academy. She is a lifelong student of Ayurveda and Yoga and is continually learning through professional development opportunities with NAMA and AAC and continuing education with the Kerala Academy.

We reference the Sanskrit language to honour the wisdom of the Ayurvedic tradition, culture and teachings which we were trained through. Ayurveda is for everyone, however we do not wish to appropriate or water down our offerings by overly anglicizing key Ayurvedic concepts.
